The things people say

On the baby message boards I am on, I have read some really rude comments made to pregnant women. It is amazing what people will say. Here are a few that stood out . . .

"You're big anyway so you won't show"
From: Sophia409

DH and I went out for our Pre-Baby Date Night and when we got to the restaurant, the hostess asked, "Would you like a table or can you still fit into a booth?"
From: annamie

My coworker just said to me: "Do you feel huge yet?" as I'm leaving the bathroom. Coming from the same person who said a few weeks ago "If you get any bigger your going to have to use the handicap stall."
From: tmbuchmann

I have heard that I look miserable, hot, and "well you are not skinny".
From: BabyJohnson

And then of course there are those comments made about the name you choose for your child.

"You do know that he'll have this name for life"
"Are you giving birth to an 80-year old man?"
"Really? That's not a very popular name anymore."
"Are you trying to make him a geek on purpose?"
By the way, his name is Henry.
From: wanitten

So far I've been lucky enough not to get any such comments, and as entertaining as they all are to read about, I can imagine how upsetting/annoying it is to hear.

I guess some people are missing the part of their brain that tells them to stop and think about what they are going to say, before they say it.

Is anyone out there?

Knock, knock . . . knock, knock . . . is anyone out there???? I feel like I'm writing to myself. Do I have to go and email all my friends and family this link AGAIN? Come on guys, comment a little . . make me feel like someone is out there, somewhere.

It's so easy. All you have to do is click on the "Comments" button at the bottom of one of my entries. Then you type what you have to say and either log in or post as anyonomous (you can always put your name in the text at the bottom of your comment). It really isn't that hard, I swear!

Don't you have anything to say . . anything at all? Even if you want to tell me that I'm boring you with all of this baby talk and I should start talking (well, writing) about something else . . that's fine!

Hope to hear from you soon . . . .

Aches and Pains

My back has been hurting on and off for awhile now. I have a back support pillow that I bring pretty much everywhere I go, and I have a foot rest at work also. It's weird how some days my back doesn't hurt at all, and other days, no matter what I do, it kills me all day.

And isn't it weird that yesterday, my back didn't hurt at all but my pants were so tight that I was miserable all day anyway. Then today I come into work with loose fitting pants (so that I don't have that same problem) and wouldn't you know it, my back is horrible today.

Maybe I just need one pain to take away from the other, I don't know. Well, hopefully the day goes fast, and at least it's Friday!! :-)

I passed!

I had another doctor's appointment last night and found out that I passed my glucose test! That means that I do not have gestational diabetes, which is a huge relief. I was a little scared since I am at a higher risk (my Dad has diabetes). But, nope, I passed. Plus, I am doing well with everything else too. I'm not anemic, which is a common problem during pregnancy, my blood pressure has continued to be perfect, and I'm measuring right on schedule.

The only thing that threw me off, was that I gained FIVE pounds since my last appointment two weeks ago. Wow, five pounds. I still can't believe it. Previously, I had been gaining about a pound a week and considering the fact that my belly doesn't look like it has even gotten any bigger in the last two weeks, I'm really surprised about the five pounds.

I did have a full bladder though, which I never have had before when I got weighed, so maybe that contributed. But still, maybe that added a pound, but certainly no more than that. So, either way you look at it, I gained much more than in previous weeks - at least double. That puts me up a total of 25 pounds since I got pregnant. I thought I'd gain that much the entire pregnancy, but boy was I wrong! No wonder I can't fit into most of my clothes. I'm going to go broke just trying to dress myself! lol.
