If you think I forgot, you are right

Between Christina’s First Birthday and going back to work after six weeks off, I completely forgot that I never wrote about our trip to Georgia. Shame on me. Better late than never though right? In August we took a trip to Georgia, primarily because my sister Mindy was having an engagement party. I will write a separate post about what it was like to travel with a one year old and spare you the details here.
While visiting for the engagement party, we also took the opportunity to do other things. We got to see the venue where Mindy will be getting married, we got to see her try on her wedding dress, and got to see the bridesmaid dresses, we also got to see Mindy and Chris’ (her fiancĂ©) brand new house. They had basically just moved in before we arrived.

Wedding Dress:
Mindy looked gorgeous in her wedding dress! It was really a perfect dress for her. Luckily, she is going to be able to wear my veil. I am really happy that I can let her use it and it can be her “something borrowed”. Of course I took lots of pictures of Mindy with the dress and the veil on, but I can’t post them here. You never know who is lurking and the Groom is not allowed to see her in her dress beforehand (as I’m sure you already know). You’ll just have to take my word that she looked amazing.

Bridesmaid Dress:
I can post a picture of this one.

Rachel (my other sister – yes, I have a lot of siblings) tried the sample on in the store.  This isn't the color we are getting it in, but it still gives you a good idea of what to expect.  Doesn't Rachel look great in it?  Of course she looks great in every dress ever made, but still.

Wedding Venue:
Mindy and Chris are getting married at a Vineyard. It is beautiful there and such a special place to have a wedding. Here are some pictures from my friend Linzy (also the maid of honor):

On the topic of weddings, did you know that my cousin is also getting married next year? On top of that, she asked me to be her wedding coordinator. Oh yeah, and on top of that, Mindy wants me to do most of the planning for her wedding which is only a couple of months before my cousin’s. So, yes, I am going to be busy wedding planning for the next year. It is going to be fun and a little chaotic. It is cool though to relive the wedding planning process. It definitely reminds me of my own wedding a couple of years ago.

Engagement Party:
My cousins Elizabeth and Richard were very generous and threw the engagement party in their backyard. It was a luau theme and they worked very hard to make everything perfect. Even with the thunderstorms the night before and the chance of showers that morning, the party went off without a hitch (or a drop of rain).

I am going to try to resist the urge to explain or provide captions for any of the pictures because there are just too many.  So here goes:

The house:
Mindy and Chris just moved into a beautiful 3 bedroom house that they got at a steal! Although it came with some weird paint colors, the moment you walked in, you could tell that it had some serious potential. They have a big garage and a great backyard, high ceilings, and probably even more that I’m forgetting. I can tell you one thing, Nik and I are very happy for them and I’m also very jealous. I can’t wait until I have a house like that! They are so lucky to have found it. Our condo here in Jersey was basically the same price as their 3 bedroom house in Georgia. And yeah, this is why we want to move to Georgia.

Anyway, in addition to all of the wedding fun, we also got to see my best friend and her family. She recently had a baby and I was finally able to meet the cutie. Plus, I got to see the other two adorable kids. It really is too bad that I only get to see them once a year or so.

And here are some other pictures from the trip:
